Hey, Guys! I’d like to introduce you to Emily Johnson, who will be sharing some great posts! Take it away, Emily!

Just like a change in language, as you move across the globe you’ll find a variety of cocktails. Every region has its own uniqueness and they are quite expressive about it, especially in the case of cocktails. After all, taste is the best way to remember a place you visit, the vivid and robust flavours of each city in a glass of cocktail. Getting a hangover is just a small price to pay for the rich flavours you will experience while visiting different places and tasting their wonderful cocktails!

Here are 7 picks that we feel you must try when you visit these places. Cheers!

  1. The Gold Medal (Host City Special-London)

Wherever you are, this drink is a perfect ending to a home country win in any contest or a sport. Games with drinks is a classic combination. The Gold Medal is a spin on English Gina and curry spice together. Plus, it’s healthy due to all the veggies that are added to it.

Ingredients: 1 shot of English Gin, a pinch of curry powder, 2 small slices of yellow bell pepper, 1/3 a shot oz. of the turbinado Simple Syrup, lemon and pineapple juice.

How to make: Add the bell peppers to the bottom of the cocktail shaker first and then add all the other ingredients. Mix for 20 seconds and pour it into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of bell pepper on top.

  1. The Singapore Sling (Singapore)

A tropical drink made first by a bartender in a Singapore Hotel is a mix of sweet, fruity and a classic twist on a tropical drink. This could be especially appealing for the ladies and their palettes since it does not contain sugar (calories reduced)!

Ingredients: 1 shot of Gin, 1 dash of grenadine, pineapple juice, soda water (both 1 shot), ½ shot of Cointreau and lime juice and cherry, pineapple and orange slices for garnish.

How to make: In a cocktail shaker with ice, add gin. Add all other ingredients except the soda water and mix well until chill for 30 seconds. Transfer the shake into a tall glass and add soda water. Garnish with the fruits.

  1. Mojito (Cuba)

Who hasn’t heard of a Mojito? A classical Caribbean drink, famous across the globe thanks to James Bond and Earnest Hemmingway. If they love it, you will love it too! Less sugar and more mint, this is going to be a refreshing drink for you.

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of turbinado sugar, 10 leaves of fresh mint, 1 shot of white rum, 2 shots of soda water, and few slices of lime.

How to make: Blend the mint slices, lime, and sugar until a juice is made. Add rum with ice and mix well for around 30 seconds. Pour it into a tall glass and add soda water. Stir and enjoy!

  1. Strawberries and Stripes Daiquiri (United States)

A mix of all the colours of their flag, this is truly going to be a drink from the United States. The fresh fruit and no sugar is going to make you happy and want more and more of it! Plus, it is quite easy to make.

Ingredients: 1-2 shots of strawberry-flavoured vodka or rum, ½ cup of strawberries and ice, 1 cup of cubed watermelon slices, some blueberries and whipped cream (topping).

How to make: Combine everything in a blender until smooth and pour into a glass. Garnish with whipped cream of your choice.

  1. Tinto De Verano (Spain)

The perfect drink to sip while watching all the crazy sports bonanza, this drink translates in English to the ‘Red Wine of Summer’. If that doesn’t allure you then this drink is an easily made Sangria version. Plus, it is healthier than a sangria with no sugar or excessive liquor added to it.

Ingredients: 6oz of Spanish red wine, 1 lime and lemon juiced, soda water and a lemon slice for garnish.

How to make: In a cocktail shaker combine the juice of lime and lemon with the red wine. Pour in a glass and top with soda water. Stir and garnish with the lemon wedge.

  1. Pimm’s Cup (Great Britain)

Invented in the 1840s in Britain, this is a British classic! And the name of the inventor, James Pimm. A successful scientific experiment of a drink named after its founder! James made it as a tonic to help with indigestion, an added bonus.

Ingredients: 1 shot of Pimm’s No. 1, 1 lemon (juiced), mint, English cucumber, 1 slice of strawberry, lemon, apple and cucumber, 1/4 teaspoon of grated ginger and soda water.

How to make: Add Pimm’s No.1, lemon, grated ginger and sugar to a cocktail shaker. Fill the rest of the shaker with ice and shake for 20 odd seconds. Fill the contents in a tall glass and push all the fruit slices into the drink. Top with soda water.

  1. Cosmopolitan (New York)

The popularity of Sex and the City has made this drink a New York classic. If you are looking to radiate confidence and class, go for this one!

Ingredients: 1.5 parts of vodka, 0.5 part of Cointreau liqueur, 1 part of cranberry juice, 0.25 parts of lime juice, cubed ice and orange zest as a garnish.

How to make: Cool the martini glass first. Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake it for 20 seconds. Put the mix in the glass. Garnish with orange slice or orange zest.
